Statement of Faith
Here is an introduction to the faith I have come to embrace. There are more that could be said and as you get to know me more, you will have a better understanding of the faith that I embrace.
There is one God who made everything out of nothing. Human beings are the crown of God’s creation and valuable in his sight.
Sin is the greatest problem of humanity. Man is sinful means that he has a propensity towards hating God and others. This propensity makes him liable to judgment. Man is sinful also means he does not reflect God’s character.
This one God revealed himself in the person of Jesus. Jesus came to earth to bring about the forgiveness of sins. He died to save people from the judgment of sin, which is death. He rose again to give those who believe in him new life.
The Holy Spirit is God’s presence on earth. The Holy Spirit points the world to Jesus. He convicts people of sin so they would come to Jesus to be saved from the judgment of sin. He shapes those who believe in Jesus so that they may become people whose character reflects God’s character.
The Creator, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are the one God who exists eternally as three persons. The church is the people of the triune God.
